Ignite Your Flare Dance & Acrobatics

About Ignite Your Flare

A dance and acrobatics studio in downtown Red Bluff since 2014.

Our story

Krysta Shadish opened her studio in downtown Red Bluff in 2014, after earning her B.A. in Musical Theatre from San José State. She wanted a place where anyone could come together through performance and thrive.

In April 2023, we became Ignite Your Flare, and the phoenix became our guide. It stands for new beginnings, for courage, and for the power each of us carries inside. Our mascots grow the way our dancers do: Glow, our littlest hatchling, then Ember, Spark and Scorch, all the way to Blaze, soaring with full wings.

We believe it only takes one spark. One brave first class, one teacher who believes in you, one moment on stage. When dancers find their own light, they share it with their families, their friends and their town. Together, that light becomes a blaze: a trail of change, inspiration and positive impact across our community.

Today, dancers start as young as 18 months with a parent by their side and grow with us into competitive teens. Through it all, we build good humans first and great dancers second, with commitment, community and character at the heart of every class.

What we believe

Commitment

Performance art isn’t learned overnight. We build a solid foundation and celebrate every success, no matter how small.

Community

We laugh and cry, but we do it as a team, in a safe, nurturing and positive environment.

Character

Good humans first, great dancers second. We teach respect, gratitude and a growth mindset alongside technique.

Our phoenix family

Every Flare dancer is on a journey, and so are our phoenixes. Each one hatches, learns and grows a little braver, just like the dancers in our classes. Say hi!

Glow, the Flare phoenix

Glow

Hatchling, age 2

“Hi, I’m Glow! I just hatched, and every day is a brand-new adventure. I can walk, but I’m still learning to fly. Turn on the music and I’ll dance until I tumble over!”

Ember, the Flare phoenix

Ember

Fledgling, age 4

“Hi, I’m Ember! I’m a little shy at first, but once I warm up, watch out! I’m learning to do things all by myself, like putting on my own dance shoes.”

Spark, the Flare phoenix

Spark

Adolescent, age 6

“Hey, I’m Spark! I’ve never met a stranger, just a friend I haven’t danced with yet. My wings are finally ready, and I can’t wait to really learn how to fly.”

Scorch, the Flare phoenix

Scorch

Pre-teen, age 9

“I’m Scorch. I’m going through a big transformation: new feathers, new tricks, new everything. I love finding out how far I can go on my own.”

Blaze, the Flare phoenix

Blaze

Teen, age 14

“I’m Blaze. I work hard to fly a little higher every day. I like blazing my own trail and showing the younger birds what’s possible.”

Wildfire, the Flare phoenix

Wildfire

Team Wildfire

“I’m Wildfire! I fly my own way, and that’s my superpower. With my team cheering me on, there’s no sky I can’t reach.”
