Meet our staff
Every teacher at Flare has trained in dance throughout their life, keeps learning through out-of-town and online trainings, and brings their own teaching style.
KSKrysta Shadish
Krysta opened her studio in Red Bluff in 2014 after graduating with her B.A. in Musical Theatre from SJSU. She created Flare as a place where anyone can come together through performance art to thrive. Her favorite part of Flare is watching her “nuggets” (her students) have a magic lightbulb moment after months of hard work at something in class. Watching students succeed and grow is simply the best!
LFLisa Flader-Sakuma
Lisa started teaching at Flare in 2014, specializing in classes for younger students and ballet. Over the years she has taught all ages (1.5+), ballet, tap and lyrical. She graduated from CSU Chico with a double major in Liberal Studies, where she worked with many elementary-aged students. She loves teaching at Flare because it’s a positive, supportive environment where all the teachers work on creating both strong dancers and well-rounded people.
KLKatie Lindsey
Katie started performing at age 4 in gymnastics, ballet, choir, band and any acting opportunity her parents could find. After moving to Redding from the Bay Area at 8, she focused fully on dance and ballet, training pre-professionally until injuries in both legs led her to take a break at 17. She performed on the SHS Dance Team throughout high school and in Shasta College’s Legally Blonde: The Musical in 2012. She has worked in various roles at Flare since the studio opened in 2014.
CBCassidy Byrd
Cassidy is our front office extraordinaire. She works with new family registrations, helps you get signed up for classes and answers your questions about the studio. She has worked in the office since Fall 2021 but has been part of the Flare family much longer: her first daughter began classes in Fall 2017, and her second daughter dances here too. Cassidy knows the studio inside and out as both a parent and a staff member.
KAKristi Amacker
Kristi grew up dancing in Redding. She purchased her home studio and opened Front & Center in 2002, and she and her dancers traveled the West Coast bringing home choreography, showmanship and specialty judges’ awards. She later closed Front & Center to focus more on her family.
EOErica Ogle
Erica brings a wealth of training and teaching experience, having danced in Red Bluff, Santa Barbara, New York and Washington State. Her teaching draws on many styles, as well as Pilates and meditation, but at her core she is a classically trained dancer. Erica is all about raising the bar and making the next level possible, helping students find their own confidence and joy. She believes wholeheartedly in her dancers and loves seeing them light up at the possibilities in dance.
LNLily Novak
Lily has been dancing since she was 3 and with Flare for 10 years. She was awarded an apprenticeship three years ago to prepare for her goal of becoming a dance teacher. She has also been part of 4-H and FFA for 10 years, raising chickens, goats, rabbits and pigs, and cheers on the RBHS varsity team.
